FMCSA updates: elimination of Cargo Insurance, indemnification

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued a final rule that will eliminate Cargo Insurance requirements for most freight forwarders and motor carriers. Effective March 21, 2011, only freight forwarders and motor carriers involved in the movement of household goods will be required to maintain Cargo Insurance in prescribed minimum amounts and file evidence of insurance with the FMCSA.  The QUEST, August 2010
